AMETEK 933 — Trends & Response Guide
Understanding normal trend behavior helps distinguish analyzer issues from real process changes.
Typical Response Characteristics
- Initial response: 10–30 seconds
- 90% response time (T90): 1–3 minutes
- Full stabilization: 3–5 minutes
Slower response usually indicates sample flow restriction,
sensor aging, or sample system contamination.
Normal Trend Patterns
- Smooth response to load or air changes
- Stable baseline after calibration
- No oscillation during steady operation
Abnormal Trend Patterns
- Flat line → blocked sample or dead sensor
- Noisy trend → moisture ingress or electrical interference
- Slow drift → air leakage or sensor aging
- Sudden spike → real process upset or leak introduction
