Decision Tree: Oven / Temperature

← Back to Alarms Hub Alarm Codes → Chromatogram Guide
Goal: stabilize oven temperature at setpoint before judging retention time or repeatability.
1) Compare setpoint vs actual. Note if “not ready” or deviation alarm is active.
2) If actual stays low: check heater power path (fuses/relays), wiring, supply voltage.
3) If temperature hunts: check sensor wiring/connection, airflow/venting, fan operation.
4) Confirm cabinet ventilation and ambient conditions are within acceptable limits.
5) After correction: allow stabilization, run 2–3 cycles, confirm stable retention time.

Quick Symptoms → Likely Cause

Never reaches setpoint: heater/power issue, ventilation too high, failed relay/fuse.

Overshoot/hunting: sensor problem, loose wiring, airflow/fan issue.

Retention shift: temperature instability or carrier hunting (check both).
